Job’s Three Friends: The Great Importance of Strategic Friendship

Job’s three friends – Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar – came to comfort him in his time of need. Even though their verbal responses to Job’s suffering did not assuage his feelings, their presence in Job’s life provides valuable lessons about the power of friendship and the importance of having supportive people in our lives.

The Book of Job in the Bible tells the story of a righteous man who was faithful to God. Job possessed great wealth, a large family, and good health.

However, satan challenged God by suggesting that Job was righteous because God blessed him with so much wealth and security. Therefore, God allowed Satan to take away Job’s wealth, kill his children, and afflict him with painful sores all over his body.

Job’s response to his suffering was to remain faithful to God. But he was deeply distressed and confused by his circumstances.
