Covid 19 Lockdown: Maximising Your Personal Time And Curing Boredom

How to maximise your personal life

Has any good thing come out from covid-19 lockdown?

One good thing that has come out of the covid 19 lockdown around the world is the fact that most of us now have more personal time at our disposal than we have had in many years.

With the stay-at-home order by the government, we have slowed down significantly from our fast-paced daily lives to the one where our movement has been largely restricted.

Instead of our usual up and going lifestyle, we have been constrained to an up and staying one. And suddenly we realise we now have more time on our hands than we can use.

Despite the lockdown, I want you to know that you can still be up and doing, even while at home.

Do this and deal with boredom

Instead of complaining of boredom like some people are already doing, I wish for you to maximise this free time by doing some things that you have always wanted to do but never found sufficient time to do them.

For all you care, this lockdown certainly will not continue forever. So pending when our movements would no longer be restricted, endeavour to make the best use of the free time afforded to you by the coronavirus lockdown.

In that regard, permit me to suggest some broad guidelines on the things you can do:

Broad guidelines on the things you can do to maximise your life during the lockdown

  • Do things that will rejuvenate or strengthen your spirit, soul and body.
  • Do things that can rekindle your lost or strained relationships of interest.
  • Pay more attention to your spouse’s emotional needs, giving each other maximum pleasure and satisfaction.
  • Have more family time, engaging in activities that promote bonding with your children.
  • Reach out with a helping hand to some needy persons around you.

I hope you found the post helpful. I shall further explore the above guidelines in a subsequent post.

For now, thank you for reading and please leave me a comment.

    Excellent post, Victor!

I exercise at home, performing body weight exercises like calisthenics, pilates, isometrics and power yoga. Anyone can do body weight exercises. They are good for maintaining one’s physique, helping a person’s mental and emotional well-being as well.

Reflecting on the possibility of a compassionate God’s existence is also good for one’s mental and emotional health. It is compassion, understanding one’s self and others, and kindness that ennobles the human spirit and produces grace (graciousness) in people’s lives. Even if God doesn’t exist, people can still choose to believe that a God of loving-kindness is there.

You keep up the good work, Victor, of encouraging others and the desire to lift them up. May the God of loving-kindness, if he exists, richly bless you and your wife and, if he doesn’t exist, may you still encourage and seek to inspire others. You will be a blessing in the midst of this world.

You are welcome John. Your feedback is truly appreciated.

I would really like for you to come to the point of accepting that God exists, without doubting. You saying “if God exists” is as good as saying “He doesn’t not exist.”

God exists. Those who seek Him with all their hearts will find Him. It’s really not complicated.
