Imagine An Atheist Calling Me An Atheist

Any follower of this blog would already know that I believe in God. That fact has never been hidden in any way.

I would add that I do not just believe in God in the general sense of it, I believe in Him in the sense of having a personal relationship with Him through faith in His Son Jesus Christ whom I have willingly accepted as my Lord and personal Saviour.

On this blog I have written sufficient number of posts to have made it clear enough that I don’t belong to atheists’ camp. So you can imagine my surprise when one of my readers (ostensibly a first-timer) suggested in one of his comments to the post The Problems with Atheists that I could be an “atheist masquerading as a Protestant Fundamentalist.”

In the referenced post, I had pointed out that:

Atheists do not have what it takes to come to the conclusion that God does not exist. So when you have anyone claiming God does not exist, understand that he or she is either being insincere or is displaying his or her ignorance. Or as the Bible puts it, he or she is simply being foolish.

Just like the Sadducees that accosted Jesus over a question on resurrection, whereas they didn’t believe in resurrection, the problem with atheists who go about discrediting God and the notion of His existence is that they neither know the Scriptures nor the power of God.”

Though not unexpected, there were many backlashes from atheists over that post. Sad to say, many of the comments from them went off course. One of such comments was what inspired the title of this present post:

Are you a Catholic? Do you accept the teaching of the church? Isn’t it the church that interprets the bible? Or are you really an atheist who is masquerading under the mask of Protestant Fundamentalism?

If you’re a Fundamentalist, the former Fundamentalist pastor (now atheist) called Bruce Gerencser will chop your arguments up and make mince meat of them. He doesn’t hate God. He just doesn’t believe that God exists. What he hates is Fundamentalists pontificating on God and Fundamentalists misrepresenting atheists.

You guys, both Catholics and Protestants, are suffering from what Richard Dawkins calls “The God delusion”.

Although the comment was full of rabbit trails, I cut to the chase in the response I gave to it:

I’m not a Catholic, neither am I Protestant fundamentalist, as you put it. And your suggestion that I could be an atheist is even more laughable. How could I be so foolish to be an atheist? I know better!

For the avoidance of doubts, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ who believes in God as the creator of all things, who has accepted the saving grace that is available in Christ Jesus alone for the forgiveness of my sin and I’m living my life to please God.

I understand what the Bible says, “only fools say God doesn’t exist.” So between those of us who believe that God exists and those [of you] that don’t believe, we know who is delusioned.

Dawkins’ book is seriously mistaken in the claim that there is no God. From the reviews I have read, I know the book is an attack on God and Christianity. Anger. Hatred.

It is okay to note that the God he claims doesn’t exist, makes him so angry. That’s the same trait I have seen in many atheists I have interacted with.

no one can convince you there is God

Talking about the atheists I have had online conversations with in the past, many of them (if not all of them) would also call us delusionists for believing that God exists. Recently, I had to quip to one of them:

“If those of us who believe in God are delusionists, then those [of you] who don’t believe in Him must be worse off because atheism does not make sense at all.”

That response may appear harsh to some people, but that was as nice I could be. I believe the irony in it is clear enough for everyone to understand.

For emphasis sake, I am not an atheist. And I don’t want to be one. I believe that God exists and I believe in His Son Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal Saviour.

Atheism does not make sense to me at all. It’s all foolishness parading as knowledge. “”The fool says in his heart, “There is no God”” Psalms 14:1. I stand on that Biblical position.

All the same, I thank God for His mercies that are seeing some atheists come to Christ. How I wish these ones here will one day see their folly and also come to Christ before it becomes too late for them.

Thank you for reading. Your views are welcome.

You are welcome. And thank you for reading and commenting.

Aren’t you a Fundamentalist? You say on one of your other articles that you believe that the bible is the infallible Word of God. This sounds like Fundamentalism, to me. The bible has numerous books filled with violence and much of this violence is by your god. It sounds like he has no idea how to be a god of peace. Doesn’t he have an anger management problem, if he exists? No wonder that the bible is the best book for creating atheists. You need to read it properly.

    • VictorsCorner Aug 21, 2019 / 8:55 pm

If you believe that God has an anger issue, it means you are admitting that He exists in the first place. When you are honest about that, we can begin to explore the nature of God, which obviously you have misunderstood.

Your claim about the Bible being a book for creating atheists is malicious. You know it’s not true. You become atheist by your choice (deny it again!), so stop blaming it on the Bible.

      • John Arthur Aug 22, 2019 / 4:15 am

I’m talking about your alleged Fundamentalist god whom you can provide no evidence for. This so-called Fundamentalist god has an anger-management problem. I did not say nor imply that such a ridiculous turd exists. You read that into my reponse.

        • VictorsCorner Aug 22, 2019 / 6:18 am

You are further affirming my earlier observation: you know God exists, you just don’t understand His behaviours. Otherwise, how would say He is angry? Can someone who doesn’t exist be angry? Atheism is just absurd to me.

          • John Arthur Aug 22, 2019 / 11:09 am

I am not affirming that I know that God exists. Why do you lie for Jesus? Why do you make all this bulls!!t up? When Christians lie for Jesus, they piss non Christians off. It’s a wonder that you ever have any converts with the kind of attitude that you have. You don’t mind lying for Jesus when you speak about atheists, do you? You seem to relish your lies.

            • VictorsCorner Aug 22, 2019 / 7:42 pm

I do not lie, so your accusation of lying for Jesus is ridiculous. Anyway, you know my observations about you are correct. You just find it hard to admit them.

As per converting you, I know I can’t convert you if you don’t want to be converted. God wants you to follow Him willingly and with your own accord. It is not by force.

Just know that when you are ready, God will be waiting for you. Your lifetime is your only opportunity to know God. It will be too late on the other side of existence.

  2. VictorsCorner Aug 20, 2019 / 10:08 pm

I understand that you atheists don’t believe God exists. That’s an active choice. I believe that God exists. That also is an active choice for me. So don’t make it sound like you were left with no choice than to believe that God doesn’t exist.

    • essiep Aug 20, 2019 / 10:12 pm

I have no choice but to believe God does not exist! We certainly are left with no ither choice given the paucity of evidence seen in the real world rather than inside your head.

      • VictorsCorner Aug 22, 2019 / 8:10 pm

Your refusal to believe that God exists is a choice in itself. Whether you acknowledge it or not, it is still a choice you have made. And when there are choices, there are consequences too.

        • essiep Aug 22, 2019 / 8:50 pm

Only in the sense that I cannot choose something that seems impossible which is not supported by evidence. The non-sequitur you have alluded to do not work as evidence.
I cannot choose the groosley unlikely, so that cannot be regarded as a choice.
Do you understand that this time?

          • VictorsCorner Aug 23, 2019 / 5:56 am

I understood you the first time. What you fail to appreciate is that when it comes to the issue of seeking God, your refusal to choose Him is a choice on it’s own. You either chose Him or you don’t. There is no in between.

            • essiep Aug 23, 2019 / 6:21 am

There is no-one to choose, from your religion or any other.
              Hence – no choice.

              • VictorsCorner Aug 23, 2019 / 12:31 pm

I didn’t ask you to choose any religion. I didn’t choose religion either. I chose God through Jesus Christ.

Believe in Jesus Christ and you will be saved, your sins will be forgiven, you will have a relationship with God on earth and when your life on Earth is fully spent, you will have a place with God in eternity.

                • essiep Aug 23, 2019 / 1:08 pm

Did you mean to contradict yourself so blatantly? It’s your blog, you can always edit or repost your own comments.
All that ‘saved’ stuff is no more than capricious dogma, there is nothing in human history that supports the idea.

                  • VictorsCorner Aug 23, 2019 / 5:43 pm

There is no contradiction here. If you don’t understand any part of my post, I would be glad to explain to you.

Yes, it is my blog. But you criticise what you don’t understand on it. Suggestion that I could edit my post to suit you is not carried. I could also have edited or even blocked all the hateful comments on it, but I let them through for reasons best known to me.

    • kiabooks Aug 20, 2019 / 11:01 pm

Victor, I think the difference is some people only believe what they have evidence to support. A big part of believing in things, and entities for that matter, that we don’t have sufficient or conclusive evidence for is the idea of “suspension of disbelief”. That is indeed an active, personal choice that some choose to make, or have made in the past at one time or another, that others are just not willing to do.
Case in point for example: you prob have many different versions of “God” that you don’t believe actually exist also. Without sufficient evidence, you don’t believe. You’ve chosen not to “suspend your disbelief” in them the same way an atheist, or a former deconverted Christian like myself, choose not to regarding the biblical God.
      Does that make it clearer?

I would have loved to know what kind of christian you were before you were so-called deconverted. I have found out that many people who claim to be christian do not even come close. Well, that’s a discussion for another day.

To address the issue you raise, I will like to say that there is enough evidence to show that God exists. So the claim that there is no evidence to believe that God exists is far from the truth.

For one, I know that you are not a product of some biological accident. God created you uniquely. And gave you your reasoning faculties. If you don’t believe that then you have been deceived.

        • kiabooks Aug 21, 2019 / 9:14 pm

I was a Christian for 34yrs total. 25 of those in various ministries. Missionary to South Korea and Mexico, and 5yrs inner city missions here in the us… Phoenix az area.
Forget to “no true Scotsman” fallacy. Have a great day

          • VictorsCorner Aug 22, 2019 / 6:01 am

34years as a Christian and you threw it all away just like that? I’m curious to know why. Secondly, what is your definition of being a Christian? I have my reason for asking.

            • kiabooks Aug 22, 2019 / 1:37 pm

Sorry again, I’m not playing the “no true Scotsman” fallacy game

  3. kiabooks Aug 20, 2019 / 12:18 am

By the way, atheists don’t claim to know God does not exist. They don’t even claim that God or gods don’t exist. They don’t make a positive claim at all.
They just simply don’t believe God exists. Very different from your definition of atheism. Please correct and adjust your understanding. Thx

Hmmmm. I think you are mixing up everything. So I will suggest you speak for yourself. Contrary to your claim, many atheists that have come here claim God doesn’t exist. I know they are wrong because God does exists.

If you say atheists “simply don’t believe God exists,” aren’t you conceding that they “simply believe God doesn’t exist?”

One thing many atheists don’t know is that their believe or lack of it doesn’t diminish God or who He is. Rather by denying that God exists, atheists are simply passing judgement on themselves. Except they change their minds, they will all one day stand before the God whom they have denied. By then it would be too late for them to believe.

      • kiabooks Aug 20, 2019 / 9:58 pm

Sorry again. It’s not who is confused. Both theism and atheism are answers or positions on one question only. “Do you believe in God or gods?”
The theist believes, the athest does not.
Neither position is a claim to knowledge that a god or gods exist. Either claim would bear a burden of proof, whether claiming to know that of it gods exist or do not exist.

I guess this conversation can go on and on like this without either of us making any headway.

My position is clear. I believe that God exists. I’m not responsible for whatever you believe, it is your choice.

    • essiep Aug 20, 2019 / 10:09 pm

      Well said kiabooks.

      • kiabooks Aug 20, 2019 / 10:14 pm

Thx. I appreciate it. Hopefully the blog author will as well and adjust his strawman definition

        • essiep Aug 21, 2019 / 11:38 am

I’ve commented on blogs like this before. Sadly, the authors repeat the same mistakes time and time again. It would be most refreshing if this place were different.

          • VictorsCorner Aug 21, 2019 / 8:50 pm

What is true is worth repeating until the point comes home to those who might be missing it all along.

            • essiep Aug 22, 2019 / 5:25 am

Unless you are only playing the contradictions game. Without evidence, viable cross-references, arguments without logical fallacies, you have no access to “truth”.
Repeating and repeating dogma does not make it true.

              • VictorsCorner Aug 22, 2019 / 6:20 am

God exists. It is not a falacy, neither am I repeating a dogma. It is foolishness to say God doesn’t exist. The breath on your nostrils is enough proof that God exists.

                • essiep Aug 22, 2019 / 6:40 am

Sounds like you don’t know the meaning of ‘dogma’.
That’s an extremely low bar for proof.

        • VictorsCorner Aug 22, 2019 / 8:07 pm

There is no strawman falacy here. I feel you have chosen to ignore the substance of my argument in favour of your own belief or unbelief I should say.

  4. clubschadenfreude Aug 19, 2019 / 2:34 pm

VC is an atheist in that he disbelieves all gods but his version of the Christian one. His version isn’t the same as other Chrisitans. He has yet to show that one exists at all.

Very funny. Looks like you want to conscript me to the atheist camp by force. Too late. I have made a better choice of following the true God already.

In case you are still in doubt, rest assure that the God I believe in is the God that created Heaven and Earth, Father of Jesus Christ, the one described in Bible scriptures.

      • clubschadenfreude Aug 19, 2019 / 5:26 pm

an atheist: a person who does not believe in the existence of a god or any gods (merriam webster dictionary). Do you deny you have concluded no other gods but yours exist?

I believe that God exists, so calling me an atheist is preposterous. I recognize Jehovah God as the only true.

          • clubschadenfreude Aug 21, 2019 / 3:42 pm

Every Christian makes this claim. You are still an atheist regarding every other god for the lovely reason that you believe your god is the “only true” one: “I recognize Jehovah God as the only true.”. Thanks for confirming that. atheist: a person who does not believe in the existence of a god or any gods

              • clubschadenfreude Aug 22, 2019 / 2:38 pm

so you are an atheist “I believe in the only true God, Jehovah (not gods).” an atheist: a person who does not believe in the existence of a god or any gods

it’s amusing that this is the hill you seem to want to die on when it comes to showing that Christians are hilarious when they try to deny reality.

                • VictorsCorner Aug 22, 2019 / 7:44 pm

I believe you’ve got my point already. So recycling your argument doesn’t change anything.

                    • clubschadenfreude Aug 25, 2019 / 8:06 pm

Nope, we can’t. You still try to make false claims. It’s hilarious that you seem to think you will get cooties if you admit that you don’t believe in other gods and that means you are an atheist.

                    • VictorsCorner Aug 26, 2019 / 1:52 pm

I am not an atheist because I believe in God.
You are convinced God doesn’t exist. Right? Why then don’t you get on with your life and forget about all this diatribe on the notion of God’s existence? Can you do you that? May be, you can’t after all!

Honestly, I don’t even understand you! Why do you get yourself so worked-up trying to prove that the non-existent God does not exist? It doesn’t sound logical… Are you even sure of what you claim?

      • essiep Aug 19, 2019 / 7:47 pm

That’s no assurance, we need something more substantial.

        • VictorsCorner Aug 20, 2019 / 10:02 pm

The proofs are there for anyone who doesn’t turn a blind eye to see. If you seek God in faith and with all your heart, you will find Him.

of course VC didn’t provide any proofs or evidence. He has none at all.

Let me tell you the same thing I told John. Stand before a mirror and look at yourself. That’s proof enough that you were created by someone. That Someone is whom we recognize as God.

                    • clubschadenfreude Aug 22, 2019 / 8:13 pm

Hmm, so was I created by Vishnu? Aten? Ahura Mazda? IF not, where’s the evidence that your version of the Christian god is the creator?

And no, existence is not “proof” that any magical being, especialy your version of the Christian god, was needed for me to exist. The laws of physics do that quite well.

                    • VictorsCorner Aug 23, 2019 / 5:40 am

If you believe God did not create you, and that you are a product of chance or evolution, good for you. As for me, I was beautifully and wonderfully made by God almighty, the creator of heaven and earth.

                    • clubschadenfreude Aug 25, 2019 / 8:07 pm

So the Muslim who recognizes Allah as the one true God says that you are going to burn in hell because you have rejected Allah and his prophet, Mohammed. Pity, that you selected the wrong God. You’ll miss out on having 72 virgins in heaven.

You are not even sure about that. In any case, it one thing to believe in God and another to find the way to approach Him.

Jehovah God is the only true God and He has shown us the ONLY way to approach Him: Jesus Christ. No other legal means.

Allah is actually the same god that you have chosen according to 2 Corinthians 4:4. For he is the god on this age to blind the minds of those who have already rejected the truth of the Gospel to make sure they don’t change their minds.

That’s not a proof. You had better take a few courses in Logic. Nor is it evidence for the existence of any God. You continue to fail to provide any evidence for your claim that Yahweh is the true God.

@Victor-Be careful with John Arthur, he has an agenda to try to dismantle your faith. He doesn’t care about any proof about God that you can show him. He periodically leaves me messages, begging me to abandon God which I know comes from his father the devil. Below is a comment he left me trying his best but with failure like always to make me delete my blog.

[John Arthur said] “Bruce Gerencser is going to destroy Fundamentalism as he drives an axe through the heart of Fundamentalist ideology. Yet you [SpaniardVIII] continue to spew out your crap on this blog. You need to take it down.”

According to the Muslims, Allah is not the same God as Satan that you allege he is. Allah is the Abrahamic God that you believe in, except that Muslims claim that Mohmmed is a higher prophet than Jesus. Muslims say that you Christians are going to hell. You Fundamentalist Christians claim that Muslims are going to hell. You each claim that your holy book is the Word of God, yet they differ so much from each other. Both books are filled with their own internal contradictions, showing how ridiculous both the claims of Fundamentalist Christians and Muslims are.

I may not be obliged to continue to respond to your comments if you will continue to mix up issues in our conversations? Are you a Moslem, what do you care about their god and what they believe? Why don’t you allow them to speak for themselves?

Is it not because atheism is so follow and without foundation that you try to bring in irrelevant stuff in our argument? You cannot distract me, despite all your rabbit trails. I know what I believe. And I know whom I believe.

You criticise the Bible because you don’t understand it. And you will never do until you acknowledge the inspiration behind it – God.

                • SpaniardVIII Aug 24, 2019 / 8:34 pm

You and your atheists’ friends can’t see something that you have already chosen to ignore.

                  • John Arthur Aug 25, 2019 / 3:44 am

Well don’t you, and your mate Victor, chose to ignore the alleged gods such as Zeus, Jupiter and the thousands of others invented by humans? You ignore them because you can see no evidence for their existence. They are alleged invisible beings like your supposed Yahweh.

                    • SpaniardVIII Aug 25, 2019 / 5:18 am

You are such a poor sap with worthless words. Jesus is an historical figure and He is mentioned in, 1. Historical documents, 2. in the Qur’an, 3. in the Jewish sources as a real person. Your dumb argument for Zeus as no footing in history as a real person. Stop your fake arguments like you want the truth or like you are searching for it. You can care less if you find out that Jesus is the truth, the way, and the life. You are not here for the truth but to bring your vile and deception for one to stumble. You are in darkness and you should be ashamed of yourself for apostatizing. All you words are nothing but foolishness and if you continue down that road, you will end up in hell for all eternity. Repent and believe in Jesus Christ that He died for you on the cross and on the third day He rose from the grave.

You claim that Jesus was a historical figure who rose from the dead. The Koran’s view is not reliable, nor are the views contained in the 4 gospels which were written some 40 to 70 years after Jesus’ death. Even if Jesus was an historical figure, the church changed him into a divine-human being. Jesus was just an ordinary person, who performed no miracles. These miracle stories grew up about the legends relating to Jesus after he died and was buried somewhere in the Judean hills. Bart Ehrman shows that many of the stories related to Jesus are fictitious.

You are so ignorant John. Worse still you are denying everything Jesus represents. That’s rather too unfortunate.

      • John Arthur Aug 20, 2019 / 12:00 am

So you believe in the God describes in the bible. Well in 1 Sam.15:1-3, this so-called god commands the complete butchery of the Amalekites for what they were supposed to have done to the Israelites 400 years beforehand.

This command included the murder of little children and babies. What responsibility could little children and babies have had for any of this nonsense? Wasn’t it true that the bible was written by bloodthirsty, barbaric, very violent and ignorant savages who created their god in their own likeness? How could any compassionate and loving being ever have made such a command?

Do you really believe in such a god? After all, he’s the bible god isn’t he? And what about Jihadi Jesus of the book of Revelation who pours out his alleged wrath on the world during some imaginary Great Tribulation where rivers of blood are flowing for miles? Is this the Jesus that you believe in?

I am familiar with these kind of questions. I have had course to address them in my previous responses to your atheist colleagues that visited the blog. I think I’m not obliged to answer them here again except of course if you believe that God exists.

So what do you care about how God judged the people you referred to if you don’t believe that He exists in the first place?

          • John Arthur Aug 21, 2019 / 5:01 am

What I care about are religious fanatics who believe that the bible is some word of a god, when it is filled with immorality. Their immoral beliefs are likely to have dangerous consequences for communities where these immoral beliefs are widely held under the guise that they are upholding the word of their supposed god.

The truth is that you care about God more than you are willing to admit. The thought about the possibility of God existing contrary to what you believe bothers you so much you can’t ignore any discussion about Him. The claim that you are only bothered by religious fanatics (whatever you mean by that) is just a cover up to the real thing that ails you: your heart continues to prick you that there is God.

                  • John Arthur Aug 22, 2019 / 11:03 am

Deep inside, I know no such thing. You better be careful about bearing false witness (lying for Jesus).

                    • VictorsCorner Aug 22, 2019 / 7:18 pm

You had me giggling with that comment. Bearing false witness indeed! No, far from it. Just a reminder that God gave everyone a conscience that speaks. It is there in you, except of course if it has been silenced over the years.

              • clubschadenfreude Aug 22, 2019 / 2:56 pm

VC, again you try to lie about others. by pointing out your failures, no one has to care about your version of the Christian god. You are desperate for validation and you have to pretend others agree with you when they don’t.

                • VictorsCorner Aug 22, 2019 / 7:56 pm

There you go again. I don’t need your validation. You may deny the truth but you can’t change it. God exists and your mind tells you that He does. But you have chosen to ignore the voice of your conscience.

If you truly believe that there is no God, quit all these blog to blog diatribe about God and Christians and then use your time for something more ‘real’. But I’m sure you can’t do that.

                  • clubschadenfreude Aug 22, 2019 / 8:17 pm

My mind doesn’t do that at all. But nice try, VC. You can claim that you are psychic and know what other people think. No one believes you.

And poor VC, he has to try to pretend that people have to believe in his god or they wouldn’t point out how badly VC fails in showing this god exists.

Showing that Christians lie and should not be equated with good is a very real and worthwhile thing.

                    • VictorsCorner Aug 23, 2019 / 5:51 am

God exists. And that’s not a lie. God created you and me and everyone else. That’s not a lie.

If you are really interested in seeking God, you will find him. I can’t help you if you can’t be honest about that.

                    • clubschadenfreude Aug 25, 2019 / 8:10 pm

it’s very fun to watch you say it’s okay for me to accept evolution and then you try to claim that you know your god made me. Still no evidence, VC. Just the baseless claims of a man who needs to feel superior, that he knows the mysteries of the universe. Just like a couple of billion other theists, all who make claims and all who have the same evidence: none.

Again, we have a Christian, VC, who since he can’t show that his god exists, tries to make it6 my fault if I can’t find it. This god certainly is pathetic if it can’t make itself known. VC also again bears false witness against me, showing that he’d rather lie than pay attention to his bible. Funny how I am interested in finding this god, and have been looking for decades. Blaming the victim is always the christian’s excuse.

God is just but He is also God of Justice. You don’t believe that God exists, how would you possibly believe or know anything about His Justice?

              • John Arthur Aug 23, 2019 / 6:21 am

So your God killing little children and babies is just, is it? By any standards of human decency it’s completely immoral. So is God’s command for the Israelis to butcher little children on his behalf. You believe that such a God exists because it’s in the bible, which you claim is infallible. Don’t you know that your so-called infallible book was written by ignorant and bloodthirsty savages who created their God (Yahweh) in their own likeness. So fools like you say that such a god is the only true god.

                • VictorsCorner Aug 23, 2019 / 5:37 pm

How would even understand God’s Justice when you don’t even believe in Him?
As for who the real fools are, we know them: those who say God doesn’t exist.

                  • John Arthur Aug 25, 2019 / 4:52 am

Your fictitious god is affecting people’s lives because they believe that this invisible (non-existent) being exists. It is not God who has any consequences for people’s living but people’s fallacious and deluded beliefs about this non-existent being.

Human beings create their own morality. There is no need to postulate a God or gods. By the standards of humanism the killing of babies and little children is totally immoral. So the fools say in their heart “our god exists”. The God of the bible is a brutal monster, created by savages in their own likeness.

                    • VictorsCorner Aug 25, 2019 / 9:12 am

I think you should quit recycling your points. You are not making any headway with all these rabbit trails you bring into our discussion.

God is the foundation of morality. He made humans and gave them conscience, the sense of right or wrong.

“Fools say in their hearts, there is no God.” The Bible is my authority for that quote. What’s your own authority for what you believe? Nothing!

You don’t stand on any foundation; you are hopeless with atheism and you know it. You try to excape your own hopelessness by engaging in fruitless diatribes against God, the Bible and Christians. You are just wasting your time.

Why don’t you divert your energy to something better? Or don’t you have anything better to do?

Listen, you deceiver who is full of darkness and comes only to try and choke the work of the Lord, I have personally answered that question that you are asking Victor, and EVERY other Christian. I gave you the answer but you don’t care to know. You have an agenda which of course it will fail. Only a fool goes against the Living God. All your arguments are so ridiculous and sad.

@Victor, if you continue to give John a platform, he will never leave you alone. He is like a cold that never wants to leave even though you take medicine. I pointed it out to you with a post that would answer why God would destroy men, women, and children. It was described with the two cities in Genesis. You can read it here:

I banned you because all you do is give me childish threats. You are not serious for a real debate. I answer your questions and you go back and ask me the same question in a different way. I see through you and your satanic tactic. It is not going to work with me. • VictorsCorner Aug 25, 2019 / 8:56 am

On the contrary, the stories you refered to in the actually underscore the integrity of the Bible, because they were actual events that happened and were recorded.

Those people led a sinful life and God judged accordingly.

In any case, you would not know anything any divine Justice since you deny that God exists.

There is evil in the world today, but because of God’s grace made available by Christ, the judgement of God on the world is being restrained for a while. Eventual, God will judge everyone that denies Him.

That’s why I spend my valuable time responding to your comments here. So that you will hear the truth and have the opportunity to make up your mind about God.

Victor, I hope you aren’t missing the point he’s making here.
You “don’t believe” in God as the other person’s faith describes.. say.. Thor or Vishnu. You are “atheist” just as they or we are “atheist” to the biblical God that you believe describes God accurately.
        Do you see my point?

I see your point, but you also need to see mine. I believe in the one true God, with a capital G. As such I do not reckon with other gods, with small letter g. But that doesn’t make me an atheist as your friend would want to assert.

          • kiabooks Aug 21, 2019 / 10:42 pm

You do know of course that the adherants of other Faiths also believe that their particular God is the REAL God with the capital G also, right?
So to them, yes you are an atheist in regards to their Capital G God too.
            That was my point.

The problem is that there could only be one God with the capital G. And the Bible identifies that God as Jehovah God. So since that’s the One I believe in, I’m not an atheist.

              • clubschadenfreude Aug 22, 2019 / 2:59 pm

and no evidence at all that VC has the one real god, or that there are any real gods. Saying that since they bible says that there is a god then there has to be a god is just as saying that since the Book of the Dead says that there are many gods, then there have to be many gods. All we have are books and Christians who don’t agree on how to translate the one they have nor can they show that they are Christians at all since they fail to be able to do what their bible promises. Either the bible is wrong or the claimants are wrong. Quite a choice.

                • VictorsCorner Aug 22, 2019 / 8:01 pm

The Bible is not wrong, though people may interpret it differently. But there is that one congruence of opinion you can’t deny that all Christians hold: God exists. Your continuous denial of that fact can’t change anything.

But it is such a pity that you deny the God who gave you the breath on your nostrils.

                  • clubschadenfreude Aug 22, 2019 / 8:20 pm

Yep, Christians all interpret the bible differently, and this god doesn’t do a damn thing about that, just like it doesn’t exist.

All Christians believe a god exists. They all have different claims on what this god considers sin, what this god needs to “save” someone, etc. That Christians insist that Christians who disagree with them aren’t “really” Christians, then nope, VC, not all Christians agree on the same thing at all.

And as soon as you show that your version of your god exist, we can consider if it created me or anything at all. In any case, I certainly wouldn’t worship such a pathetic being.

                    • VictorsCorner Aug 23, 2019 / 5:53 am

If you really believe God doesn’t exist, just quit all these diatribes against Him and against us who believe in Him. You must have something better to do with your time, or don’t you?

                    • clubschadenfreude Aug 25, 2019 / 8:11 pm

Sorry, VC, but I’m not going to sit down and shut up no matter how you try to make believe that since I don’t believe in your god, then I shouldn’t speak out against the false claims of you and others. It’s a lovely use of my time standing up against liars who cause harm with their baseless claims; claims that they can’t even convince other Christians about.

                    • VictorsCorner Aug 26, 2019 / 1:58 pm

Somehow, I believe that even though you call yourself an atheist, you know in your innermost heart that God exists, but you just don’t want to acknowledge it. As usual, you will deny that you know… But I am hardly surprised.
